Quick Notes

We did make it, we are at our hotel on the river walk. So far the highlight of the trip has been showers! After a day and a half in the same clothes we finally checked into our.rooms and got to cleanse ourselves. After a night on the bus, I do think a new overall highlight will soon be the beds that we get to sleep on tonight.
Also of note. Today we had the opportunity to attend a very large church. It is always nice to attend a new service and note the differences. It theosophists us to se e what other churches are able to do and als to appreciate what we have our own

We're here... Almost!

After a mostly sleepless night (average seems to have been about 4 1/2 hours of poor sleep) the 5 busses (250ish kids) we arrived early to the campus of Concordia University-Texas in Austin. Unfortunately, since we were early we had to wait an hour for breakfast which was scheduled at 7:30. Some of us played early morning frisbee and Amanda von helped teach us to be aware of the fire ants.

Though we had a wait for breakfast, when it did finally come we were not disappointed. Concordia treated us to a Full buffet and all for free. Following breakfast we had the opportunity to see the new campus at Concordia. I imagine for most of our kids it was their first college visit, so maybe we got them thinking.

We loaded the bus back up around 9:00 and started on the final leg of the journey. Most of us are in good spirits but could use a double dose of prayer today for some sort of divine energy boost.

Gathering Prep

Today we met and had our final preparation meeting for the National Youth Gathering. We had a wonderful lunch thanks to some of the moms from the group, and enjoyed Bible study, group builders, covenant making, and video blogging practice. Over the next few weeks we will be posting some of the video we recorded this afternoon to the blog to cover topics such as; What is a National Youth Gathering? Top 10 things that make Mt. Calvary so special. Law and Gospel of our Covenant. What does the theme Live Love[d] mean? Why we are excited to attend the National Youth Gathering?  and the Top 10 things we are excited to see in San Antonio.

Please keep up with our group through this blog as we are away. We will do our best to post pictures, videos and respond to any comments as we are away.
